I help companies solve hard problems.

Every company, team, challenge and opportunity is so different that it simply wouldn’t work for me to try to use the same service or product for each company. There is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Regardless if it is a problem that needs solving or helping you capitalize on the opportunity in front of you, the most effective way to get to real, lasting solutions is to work together closely for a period of time. I will come alongside you and your team and be an added strategic resource, approaching your problems, challenges and opportunities the way I would if I had joined your team full time.

Some call it a fractional head of marketing or an embedded strategic resource…to me it seems like common sense.

Is this right for your company?

It is in both of our best interest to make sure this is a good fit. I look for opportunities where I know I can add significant value, I believe in the product/service and we get along. We may be a good fit if:

  • You are interested in direct, honest feedback and advice from someone who knows and understands many stages and levels of startup growth.

  • You already have revenue and some traction with your target audience (some may consider this product-market fit).

  • You have a transactional business model with sales cycles <6 months.

  • You have resources or budget for executing on the strategy that comes out of our engagement.

We may not be a good fit if some or all of these are true:

  • You want sugar-coated answers or are looking for someone to simply validate your plans and process without any critical feedback.

  • You are still trying to figure out who your ideal buyer is or if the market will pay for your product/service.

  • Your business only requires that you close 5-10 seven-figure deals per year to hit growth targets.

  • You are looking for a full service agency to write content, manage advertising or design website pages or ad creative.

Examples of scenarios where I can help.

  • You are experiencing good initial traction for your product/service and want to get aggressive about scaling growth with guidance on how to do it efficiently and effectively.

  • You have experienced growth in the past but have slowed down and need to figure out how to get “unstuck” and growing again.

  • You are growing well and reaching a significant milestone in your growth and want to collaborate with someone on how to think about future growth and continuing to scale.

How does it work?

My process is not set in stone but it typically follows a similar pattern with each company. I will adapt as necessary to fit the specific needs of each company over the course of a 6 or 12-month engagement.

Discovery - In the first phase, I will look at data, learn your processes and talk with team to understand current state as both I see it and the team sees it. Out of the Discovery phase comes an audit with current state, recommendations and a light plan for how to prioritize work/projects.

Implementation - This phase typically makes up the majority of the engagement. During this phase, we will do status calls every week or every other week where we continue to move through priorities and working to solve problems, test channels or implement new process and technology. As necessary and based on how things are progressing, I will provide recommendations on staffing and hiring plans.

Transition - While there is always the opportunity to continue working together, it is inevitable that things will eventually end. The goal of the engagement is to help you get where you want to be AND equipped to lead/manage that moving forward. There is no set duration for this period, but we really start to shift the focus from implementation and start looking at roadmap planning, interviewing/hiring key roles and firming up process so that things will continue to run smoothly.

Advisory - In the end, I become more of an advisor to you and your team through bi-weekly Zoom calls and ongoing email support. This is valuable to you because I have already spent several months working closely with your team and know the business well, which gives me good context for any ongoing support.
